What's New?
8th Grade (Spanish I): Your child was issued a textbook on the very first day of class. I would strongly encourage your child to cover their textbook. This will help prevent them from getting a fine at the end of the year if it is returned damaged. These textbooks MUST be brought to class EACH DAY!! Any student who does not bring their textbook will receive a 76 (C) for their participation grade that day as they were unprepared for my class. This is a HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT COURSE!! This will be the ONLY chance your child will have Spanish for an entire year!! Your child MUST do well this year to be eligible for Spanish II at WHS. The key to success in Spanish I is to STUDY EACH AND EVERY DAY, COME FOR EXTRA HELP AS NEEDED and STAY FOCUSED AND ON TASK DURING INSTRUCTION!! Please encourage your child to make good choices and work hard so he/she will have a successful and rewarding experience in my class this year! I appreciate your support. Your child MUST be responsible and involved by studying each and every night and keeping up with all their homework!! ONLY your child has the power to get good grades in my class! Both you and I can only encourage and support them. They have to be willing to put forth the hard work, effort and time that it takes to be successful!!! Making flashcards and writing the words over and over are key in helping to learn the meanings and spellings of their vocabulary words!! A good work ethic is important to your child's success in my class!! I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year!! THERE IS HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT IN MY CLASS!! If there is no written assignment, your child MUST study and practice!!!
Your child signed up for their "Supersite". (Purple Class - Tuesday, 8/20 & Gold Class - Wednesday, 8/21) For each of the five chapters we do this year, your child will need to complete the online "Supersite" assignments. (vhlcentral.com) My students can use their books, notes and even ask me for help. These will count as quiz grades throughout the year. For Chapter 4 your child will have SEVEN WEEKS (Due: Monday, 3/16/20) to do these assignments. Please encourage your child to do all assignments for each chapter.
